10 reasons why kids need to play golf

  1. Good sportsmanship for life. With more and more children becoming obese, golf is the sport that gets them moving. Playing golf and moving around the course on foot with a club bag on his shoulders, a man weighing 70 kilograms burns 350 calories per round. When asked what he likes best about golf, one young golfer said, “It’s good for me. I walk more and watch less TV.”
  2. Communicating with family. Golf is a game that encourages the whole family to participate. As a rule, children start golfing by following the example of their parents.
  3. Teaching etiquette. Children should take up golf because it is based on values that are lacking in our society. The emphasis in golf is on etiquette. Most golf is played without the presence of referees; players judge their own actions and impose their own penalties.
  4. Preparation for future professional life. Golf is a sport that helps prepare children for business careers and any career in general. By rotating in a golf atmosphere, children learn the fundamentals of social behavior, which opens doors for them to enter business and other fields of endeavor.
  5. Variety of opportunities. Golf is a game that can be played for a lifetime, regardless of age, gender, race, physical condition or skill level. Golf can be played alone or with partners, and partners can be of varying skill levels.
  6. Controlling emotions. Successes and failures in the game are very similar to the ups and downs of real life. Whether playing a 3-, 9- or 18-hole game, a young person learns to assess difficulties and navigate his or her own circumstances. The result of this analysis can be good, “so-so” and bad strokes.
The varied experiences gained during the game teach children the skills of:
    a) predicting the consequences of each hit,
    b) controlling their emotions,
    c) maintaining a positive outlook on things,
    d) concentrating on the performance of the upcoming kick.
  7. Playing in a safe environment. The golf course is a safe place where children learn and socialize as safely as possible.
  8. Developing the quality of responsibility. The ball doesn’t always land where you want it to, but you can’t blame your partners. By playing golf, young people learn personal responsibility for preparing and completing the task at hand. And while there’s no guarantee that a good score will be shown or even a competition won, when leaving the final green, your child can say that he or she did everything in his or her power to succeed.
  9. Establishing lasting friendships. You never know who you will meet on the golf course. Communicating with partners during the round helps children develop interpersonal skills.
  10. Having a great time outside the home. Kids should take up golf because it’s a great way to spend a few hours outdoors. By playing golf, children can learn about the variety of plant and animal life around them.

TIPS FOR BEGINNERS – A GOLFER’S EQUIPMENT AND ITS PURPOSE

CLUBS
The characteristics and appearance of a particular club will be directly related to the type of golf you play and, of course, to its rules. Usually, in accordance with these rules, a player can carry no more than 14 clubs, unless, of course, he is playing mini-golf.
The difference between hockey sticks is that they are designed for different types of shots. All clubs can be classified into groups: for hitting at greatest distances there are clubs from the wood group. In English it means that the club is equipped with a wooden head, but in modern golf this is not always the case. They are now made of metal alloys.

Following the first stroke is responsible for the flight of the ball at different distances, it all depends on where the hole. For this purpose, you need iron clubs (irons), which were originally made of metal.
For maximum accuracy of the strike is suitable pitching wedge (pitching wedge), it has a special shape, helping it not to get stuck in the sand. At the last stroke the ball should be rolled on the grass, for this purpose is ideal putter (putter).
Its name comes from the word “put”. At the bottom of the club is the club head (club), on top there is a handle (grip), they are connected to a rod (shaft), which is made of metal or other durable materials.

BALLS
At first glance, it would seem that all golf balls are the same. But that’s just how it seems. When you first go bowling, you can’t tell the difference between the balls either. But then you do.
It’s almost the same in golf. It is important to know that the average ball diameter should be about 4.27 cm, and the weight can range from 41-46 grams. A distinctive feature of golf balls are dimples, the average ball has between 300 and 500 of them.
It is believed that the more dimples, the higher the ball flies, but often to the detriment of the length of the stroke. Do you know what the speed of a flying ball is? 200 km/h!
Another important characteristic is the elasticity or “compression” of the ball, this conventional value from 0 to 200.
Balls differ also on the internal structure: they come in two, three or even four layers.
The components of the two-layer balls is a core and a thin, rigid shell. They combine a low price, durability, and range, so they are considered ideal for most golfers.
Three-layer balls have an added winding over the elastic core. Such balls give a soft feel at impact and can be spun as much as desired. They are more suitable for experienced golfers. And the most modern, and therefore new type of golf balls are four-part balls.

CLOTHES
For the novice golfer, this item is completely insignificant. All things can be found in your own closet. Pants, sweaters, jackets, shirts, socks, cap and baseball cap. For continuing members, you can supplement this list by buying a polo shirt (short-sleeved, collared, with buttons). Clothing for club members, on the other hand, should carry the club insignia. The golf world, like any other, has its own fashion.

FOOTWEAR
As noted earlier, beginners on this issue does not need to worry, the main thing was to be comfortable. Just put on your sneakers and go. But for regular golfers, the question “what to play in? – is very relevant.
Generally, there are special shoes, designed only for golf, but many sports companies tend to make these shoes not only comfortable, but also aesthetically appealing.
Now you can show your style even in your choice of golf shoes. But in any case, choose a sportswear and footwear store, and after consulting with a salesperson, choose something that suits you and meets the conditions of your activities.
Remember, expensive is not always the best, the price can be an indicator of “quality” and “style,” but if you can’t afford something – buy what is available. After all, it’s not the thing that makes a person beautiful, on the field it’s not the equipment, it’s the game.

BAGS AND TELEGS
Golf bags help you comfortably move all your clubs, golf accessories and balls. Golf club bags “bags” are quite roomy and have plenty of extra pockets.
If you are not in the mood to carry your golf club bag over your shoulders, you should get a golf cart. Carts come in two-wheeled, in which case you pull it behind you, and three- or four-wheeled, in which case you can push it in front of you. The latter type of carts has been gaining popularity lately because such carts are more versatile and, for example, allow you to fix an open umbrella, which is very convenient in the rain.

A standard set of golfer’s equipment includes:
clubs, balls, clothes, shoes, bags, carts, and the rest – depends on your ambitions and income.

The average price of equipment for a beginner will be somewhere in the range from $ 150

And getting out on the field is a completely different story….
